The Mind Behind the Mission
HERITAGE, SCIENCE, AND THE VISION OF A TRULY HUMAN AIA vision needs a mind to carry it.
The dream of recovering Bharat’s lost knowledge — and of building an artificial intelligence worthy of it — did not arise from technology alone. It was shaped by heritage: a scholar’s reverence for the scriptures, an engineer’s discipline, and a family memory of service to the nation.
THE VISIONARY
Shivam Goswami
Co-Founder, CEO and Managing Director of Chandrahas Technologies, Shivam Goswami is a mechanical engineer who left a settled career in 2016 to pursue innovation on his own terms. From a modest beginning — a team that first gathered at a Shiv Mandir in Vangaon — he built a company committed to genuinely Indian engineering, designing and programming advanced IoT and AI devices in India when much of the industry was content to import and rebadge.
A public speaker versed not only in technology but in Indian, Greek, Roman and world philosophy, Shivam has long pursued a disciplined, scientific approach to the wisdom held within India’s ancient scriptures — the conviction that what is dismissed as myth may be history and science waiting to be read with rigour. It is this union of the engineer and the seeker that gives the AI Mission its character.
THE LINEAGE
Shastri ji — a custodian of scriptural memory.
The roots of the AI Mission run deeper than engineering. Shivam’s character was shaped by his maternal grandfather, Shri Lalta Prasad Giri — honoured with the title Shastri ji, bestowed upon him in Varanasi by the saints — a profound scholar of the Vedas, the Puranas, and the histories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Shastri ji lived a humble life of learning in close fellowship with the saints of the Ramanandi tradition, the Mandaleshwars and Mahamandaleshwars, and carried longstanding bonds with the revered Ramanandacharya and Shankaracharya lineages. In an age beginning to forget its own inheritance, he was a living thread to it — so deeply versed that, in the era when India’s great epics were being brought to the screen, custodians of those productions sought his counsel on the scriptures and their histories.
From his grandfather, Shivam received not blind belief but a scientific temperament toward the scriptures. That inheritance — a scholar’s reverence married to an engineer’s discipline — is the true origin of the LRSF AI Mission: to build an intelligence capable of recovering, at last, the lost knowledge of Bharat.
“Like the roots of a mighty Banyan that dig deep into the earth, a humble man’s character grows stronger with each passing day, making him worthy of the highest respect.”
— SHIVAM GOSWAMI
A HERITAGE OF SERVICE
Built on the values of those who served before.
Service to the nation is woven into this family’s story. Shivam’s paternal grandfather, Shri Badriprasad Goswami, was a freedom fighter who served in the struggle for India’s independence in the era of the Azad Hind Fauj. The courage and sacrifice of that generation — duty placed above the self — is part of the inheritance that shapes how the mission is approached today: technology as service, innovation as a form of nation-building.
THE CAPABILITY PARTNER
Chandrahas Technologies
Nine+ Years in AI/ML
Frontier experience in AI and machine learning, now directed toward models that can read and cross-reference India’s vast body of texts.
Digitisation at Scale
The engineering to digitise, translate and preserve scriptures and evidence — turning a civilisation’s memory into a living archive.
Conscious by Design
A commitment to AI rooted not in profit alone, but in humanity, ethics and consciousness — technology built to serve.
To study a civilisation’s entire memory — millions of verses, thousands of texts, centuries of evidence — is a task beyond any single scholar. Chandrahas Technologies serves as the capability partner that makes it possible: contributing the engineering depth to build AI in the service of truth. The Foundation and the company are independent organisations working toward a shared vision — a collaboration of capability and conviction, openly declared.
A SHARED PURPOSE
Where two visions met.
The Foundation was founded by Mahesh Patil, whose long-held dream was to revive India’s true ancient wisdom and science and bring it into reality. When he learned of Shivam through the Foundation’s volunteers, and later met him, he found a vision that aligned completely with his own. From that meeting grew a shared purpose — and today they collaborate to bring the AI Mission, and the Foundation’s wider goals, to life: uniting India’s living scholarly and spiritual traditions with archaeologists, historians, Sanskritists, astronomers and modern scientists. Ancient wisdom and modern science, working as one.
The mission, in full.
