Membership is open to anyone who wants to contribute time, skill, or presence to the work.

What Membership Means

Membership of the Lok Rakshak Sena Foundation is not a title, a badge, or a benefit programme. It is a commitment — to the Foundation’s values, to the discipline of its work, and to the communities the Foundation serves.

A member is someone who has chosen to make some part of their time, skill, or attention available to the Foundation on an ongoing basis. That contribution may be an hour a week or forty; it may be direct field work or specialist expertise offered remotely; it may be for six months or for decades. What defines membership is the commitment, not the volume.

Who Can Join

Four ways to become a member.

Field Member

For members who can be present locally — at a village, ward, taluka, or district level — to carry programme work on the ground. Field members are the front line of the Foundation’s community work. Regular participation in the local unit’s activities is expected.

Remote Member

For members who can contribute expertise or time from anywhere — legal research, translation, writing, media production, digital outreach, technical development, mentorship. Remote members are essential to work that does not require physical presence.

Specialist Advisor

For members with substantial professional or scholarly experience who can advise on specific programmes or on the AI Mission. Specialist advisors participate on a consultative basis; the volume and cadence of engagement is agreed individually.

Institutional Member

For companies, universities, monastic institutions, and other organisations that wish to partner with the Foundation on ongoing programmes. Institutional membership is structured through a written partnership agreement.

What We Expect of Members

Alignment with the Foundation’s values. Members are expected to conduct themselves, in their engagement with the Foundation and in their public representation of it, in a manner consistent with the Foundation’s stated values.

Honesty about capacity. We would rather have an hour a week from someone who reliably gives it than a promise of ten hours from someone who cannot sustain them. Members are asked to be honest with themselves and with us about what they can commit.

Non-partisan conduct. Members represent the Foundation as citizens. Use of the Foundation’s name or infrastructure for partisan political mobilisation, for any political party or ideology, is not permitted and will result in the termination of membership.

Adherence to child-safety, dignity, and privacy standards. Members working with children, vulnerable populations, or beneficiary data are required to follow the Foundation’s safeguarding and privacy protocols.

What Membership Offers

A structure to contribute through. The Foundation provides the organisational structure, the partnerships, and the operational support that make individual contributions add up to real programme delivery.

Training and development. Members have access to the Foundation’s internal training programmes — on programme design, safeguarding, ethical conduct, and the specific skills relevant to their focus area.

A community of purpose. Membership includes participation in the network of people who make up the Foundation. This is often, for members, the most valuable aspect of membership.

A framework for personal growth. For members who choose it, the Foundation’s work can be a substantial part of a lifelong practice of service — one in which the personal and the institutional support each other over time.

How to Apply

Membership begins with an application.

The form below asks for basic information — your name, contact details, the category of membership you are interested in, your location, and a short description of how you would like to contribute.

Applications are reviewed by the Foundation’s Membership Committee. Successful applicants are invited to an orientation session — in person where possible, remote where not — before formal enrolment.
